Nobody can predict the time of Christ's arrival - the day of Jesus will come as a thief in the night. The believers of Christ are told to be alert so as not to be surprised.
1 Thessalonians 5:5-6 You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober. We are told to be watchful and sober, wearing the breastplate of faith and love, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. God did not appoint us for wrath. Whether we are awake or asleep, we should live together with our Lord Jesus Christ.
In a series of miscellaneous commands, Paul encourages to have community health, respect the authority of leaders, maintain peace, patience, kindness rather than revenge, joy, prayer, thanksgiving, and avoiding every kind of evil. Warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, do not quench the Spirit, or despise prophecies.
May the peace of God sanctify completely. May body and soul be blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Greet the brethren with a holy kiss. Read this letter to all brethren.
